SACRAMENTAL CARE OF THE SICK AND HOSPITALIZED

EMHC for the Homebound.png

New Testament texts speak of Jesus Christ as extravagantly inclusive to the sick, alienated and dying.  All of us at one time or another experience feelings of alienation, sickness and eventually death, and all of us – through faith in Jesus Christ – are embraced within His extravagant inclusion.  As sisters and brothers in the one Body of Christ, we are called to help communicate the sick, alienated and dying person’s inestimable value before God.  We do this by offering accompaniment and compassion by bringing the Church to our homebound and hospitalized sisters and brothers through the Blessed Sacrament of the Eucharist.

Please consider offering your time to bring the Eucharist weekly to one or more members of Parish Family 45 who are homebound or hospitalized.  Training for ministry to the homebound can be offered one-on-one as needed, and semi-annually in a group environment.  Training for bringing the Eucharist to the hospitalized is offered in partnership with the Church and PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center and Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center.
